Managing the MariaDB Account and Database

  1. Log on to QuTS hero as administrator.
  2. Go to Control Panel > Applications > MariaDB.

    The MariaDB app opens.

  3. Click Account and Database.
  4. Perform any of the following:

    Reset the root password

    Warning:

    Resetting the root password will restart the MariaDB database.

    Important:

    To protect your NAS, the system will automatically detect weak MariaDB server root passwords and require you to change the password. Follow the on-screen instructions to change the root password.

    1. Click Reset.

      The Reset Root Password screen appears.

    2. Specify a new password.

      Note:
      • The password must contain 8 to 64 bytes of UTF-8 characters.

      • The password cannot be "admin" or blank.

    3. Confirm the password.

    4. Click Next.

      A confirmation message appears.

    5. Click Yes.

      The root password is changed.

    Reset user passwords

    1. Click Reset.

      The Reset User Passwords screen appears.

    2. Enter the root password.

    3. Click Next.

    4. Select a user account.

    5. Specify a new password.

      Note:
      • The password must contain 8 to 64 bytes of UTF-8 characters.

      • The password cannot be "admin" or blank.

    6. Confirm the password.

    7. Click Apply.

    Reinitialize the database

    Warning:

    Reinitializing the database will delete all data in the database.

    1. Click Reinitialize.

      A confirmation message appears.

    2. Click Yes.

      The MariaDB Setup Wizard screen appears.
