Creating a Guest Operating System

This section describes how to create a guest OS using Service Composer.

  1. Open Service Composer.
  2. Click and drag VM on to the canvas.
  3. Double-click the unconfigured VM.

    The Create VM page appears.

  4. Select an operating system.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select a VNF mode.

    Setting

    Description

    Router

    The VNF behaves as a virtual router and works in isolation from the physical network.

    Bridge

    The VNF behaves as a repeater and monitors incoming and outgoing traffic from the VM.

  7. Click Next.
  8. Under Category, select Utilities.
  9. Select from the following:
    • Import VM
    • Create VM
  10. Click Apply.

    The Open Virtualization Station window appears.

  11. Click OK.

    The Virtualization Station application opens.

  12. Configure the guest OS settings on Virtualization Station.

Service Composer saves the settings.
