Uploading files and folders (iOS)

  1. Open Qfile Pro on your mobile device.
  2. Tap on the app bar.

    The Device List window appears.

  3. Tap a QNAP device to select it.

    The Folders window appears.

  4. Tap the folder you want to upload files to.
  5. Tap .
  6. Select an upload option and follow the relevant steps.

    Camera Roll

    Upload a photo from your iOS device's camera roll.

    Note:

    You must allow Qfile Pro to access files on your device.

    1. Tap .

      The Upload Files menu appears.

    2. Tap Camera Roll.

      The Photos screen appears.

    3. Tap a photo category.

    4. Tap one or more photos.

    5. Tap OK.

    Downloads

    Upload files that were previously downloaded from your QNAP device to your iOS device.

    Note:

    You must allow Qfile Pro to access files on your device.

    1. Tap .

      The Upload Files menu appears.

    2. Tap Downloads.

    3. Tap a device.

      The files and folders previously downloaded from this device are displayed.

    4. Optional: Tap a folder to navigate inside the folder.

    5. Tap one or more photos to select them.

    6. Tap OK.

    Other

    Upload files from your iOS device's local storage.

    1. Tap .

      The Upload Files menu appears.

    2. Tap Other.

      The iOS Files window opens.

    3. Locate the file to upload.

    4. Tap the file.

    Upload a new photo or video

    Take a photo or record a video with your iOS device's camera and upload it.

    1. Tap .

    2. Take a photo or record a video with your iOS device's camera.

    3. Optional: Tap Retake to retake the photo or video.

    4. Tap Use Photo or Use Video.

    The Upload window opens.

  7. Optional: Under Destination, select the destination folder.
  8. Optional: Under Configuration, configure additional settings.
    1. Use cellular data: When enabled, Qfile Pro uses cellular data to transfer files when a Wi-Fi connection is unavailable.
    2. Duplicate file name policy: Specify a duplicate file name policy.
      • Skip: If a file with the same name exists in the destination folder, the file is not uploaded.

      • Rename: If a file with the same name exists in the destination folder, the uploaded file is automatically renamed to avoid a file name conflict.

      • Overwrite: If a file with the same name exists in the destination folder, the QNAP device file is overwritten with the uploaded file.

    3. Live Photo: Specify how Qfile Pro handles photos and videos when automatically uploading:
      • Upload photo only: Photos are uploaded, video files are not uploaded.

      • Upload photo and video: Photos and video files are uploaded.

    4. HEIC file upload: Specify how Qfile Pro handles HEIC files when automatically uploading:
      • JPEG: Convert HEIC files to JPEG when uploading.

      • HEIC: Upload the original HEIC files without converting them.

      • HEIC & JPEG: Upload both the original HEIC files and their converted JPEG copies.

  9. Optional: Tap to deselect a file.
  10. Tap Upload.
