Compressing files and folders

  1. Open Qfile Pro on your mobile device.
  2. Tap on the app bar.

    The Device List window appears.

  3. Tap a QNAP device to select it.

    The Folders window appears.

  4. Identify a file or folder, and then tap .

    The file and folder action menu opens.

  5. Tap Compress.

    The Compress window opens.

  6. Specify the following settings:
    • Archive name: The name of the archive where compressed files and folders are stored.

    • Compression level: The compression level.

    • Archive format: The format of the archive.

    • Update mode: If an archive with the same Archive name already exists, modify the existing archive according to one of the following update modes:

      • Add and replace files: Add all selected files to the existing archive, and overwrite existing files in the archive with selected files of the same name.

      • Update and add files: Add all selected files to the existing archive, and overwrite existing files in the archive with selected files of the same name only if the selected files are newer.

      • Update existing files: Overwrite files in the existing archive with selected files of the same name if the selected files are newer; otherwise, do not add the selected files.

      • Synchronize files: The contents in the existing archive are completely replaced by the selected files. New files are added, files with the same name are overwritten, and files in the existing archive that were not selected for compression are removed.

    • Password: The password required to access the archive.

  7. Tap Compress.
