Description

SSH

Secure Shell (SSH) is a network protocol used for securely accessing network services over an unsecured network. Enabling SSH allows users to connect to the device using an SSH-encrypted connection or a SSH client such as PuTTY.

SNMP

The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is used to collect and organize information about managed devices on a network. Enabling the SNMP service allows for the immediate reporting of device events, such as warnings or errors, to a Network Management Station (NMS).

Service Discovery

You can enable the following services:

  • Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) Discovery Service: UPnP is a networking technology that enables the discovery of devices connected to the same network. After enabling this service, other devices that support UPnP are able to discover this device.

  • Bonjour: Bonjour is a networking technology developed by Apple that enables devices on the same local area network to discover and communicate with each other.
