Application-Level QoS Using Deep Packet Inspection (DPI)

The QuWAN Orchestrator DPI engine recognizes several commercial applications and application groups. You can use the DPI engine to analyze incoming packets and classify the traffic as belonging to a specific application or application group.

Adding a DPI Application Group

  1. Open QuWAN Orchestrator.
  2. Go to Common Configuration > DPI Application Group.
  3. Click Add.

    The DPI Application Group window appears.

  4. Configure the settings.

    Setting

    User Action

    Application category name

    Specify the name of the application group.

    From category

    Select from the preconfigured application group.

    Note:

    Specify the application group keywords to filter the search.

    Click the checkbox to select all applications or specific applications within the selected category.

    Click the icon to add the selected applications.

    Click the icon to remove the selected applications.

  5. Click Create.

QuWAN Orchestrator adds the DPI application group.

Configuring a DPI Application Group

  1. Open QuWAN Orchestrator.
  2. Go to Common Configuration > DPI Application Group.
  3. Identify a DPI application group.
  4. Click .

    The DPI Application Group window appears.

  5. Configure the settings.

    For details, see Adding a DPI Application Group.

  6. Click Save.

QuWAN Orchestrator updates the DPI application group information.

Deleting a DPI Application Group

  1. Open QuWAN Orchestrator.
  2. Go to Common Configuration > DPI Application Group.
  3. Identify a DPI application group.
  4. Click .

    A confirmation message appears.

  5. Click OK.

QuWAN Orchestrator deletes the group.
