The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is used to collect and organize information about managed devices on a network. Enabling the QTS SNMP service allows for the immediate reporting of NAS events, such as warnings or errors, to a Network Management Station (NMS).

The SNMP community string functions as a password that is used to authenticate messages sent between the NMS and the NAS. Every packet that is transmitted between the NMS and the SNMP agent includes the community string. |

Specify the username, authentication protocol and password, and privacy protocol and password.
